Black Rat
Rattus rattus
This rat prefers the upper stories and roofs of the buildings it invades. It is an agile climber and jumper. Its preferred food is vegetable matter.
The black rat breeds on average two times a year producing litters of six young or so.
The black rat is known for always fleeing upward when threatened.
